Here in the north country of Minnesota, recreation is centered around the enjoyment of the many lakes that grace our lands. From sandy shorelines and beaches perfect for the kids, to quiet inlets and bays where hundreds of species of birds can be observed, to the amazing variety of fresh water fish that can be caught here.

At Paradise Resort you will find a large selection of watercraft to enhance your experience. Use of canoes, kayaks, hydro-bikes and hydro-paddleboats is included for guests at no charge. A beautiful, sandy beach and swim area is perfect for lounging and swimming out to the Water-Tramp or swim raft. Try the water slide at the tramp or try crossing the launch log. Water bugs are available for the kids too! Pontoon boats and fishing boats are available to rent right at the resort and each cabin has dock space for your own boat if you decide to bring one along.
 
  
 

Each day the resort offers some planned activities such as; a sandcastle building contest, an ice cream social, minnow races, bingo and carpet ball. Participation is a great way for kids to make new friends and for the grown-ups to meet other guests.

The area surrounding the resort offers a myriad of activities within a 30 minute drive. Golf courses are abundant and there are some very unique shopping opportunities too. The city of Bemidji is 25 miles from the resort and has interesting shops, sites and history, movie theaters, restaurants, etc.
 
  
 

Itasca State Park, site of the headwaters of the Mississippi is another option and features a fantastic interpretive center. In this park you are able to walk across the Mississippi at its birthplace! Of course, the resort is located within the Chippewa National Forest with hundreds of trails to hike and explore. You might see deer, fox, beaver, muskrat, rabbit or even bear! The park in known for its large population of eagles and birding is popular here. In the right season, you can pick raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, june berries, elder berries or wild strawberries. In the late fall, hunters can expect to see healthy populations of grouse, duck, deer and even bear (all with proper licensing, of course!)

Las Vegas style casino gambling and bingo is just down the road too! There are so many choices of activities to fill your days that you might need to take a family “vote” to decide which way to go.
